When Penelope got off work she had decided to stop by the house before making her way to the shop. Romantix was one of many adult shops in Los Angeles, but her particular store was for the upper class and so was the way she was dressed in a fitted black dress with matching high heels, her hair and make up were both done perfectly. The last two were not out of the ordinary for Nelly. She had pride in the way she looked, and even her sloppy look was attractive on her. When she changed, she wore a pair of tight jeans, a different pair of heels, making sure they wouldn't make her the same height as Preston, and a beige knitted tank top. She looked herself over, and brushed her fingers through her hair before grabbing her car keys.
She hadn't been to Venice Beach since her and Preston went their separate ways, mostly for the fact that she was afraid that she would run into him. God, that boy. Memories, and different thoughts swam through her mind as she made the drive to the shop, which was different because he normally didn't spend much time there. She was nervous, and anxious. Mostly anxious. She didn't know what to expect when talking to him the night before, and it had went better than what she expected. Although, she wouldn't have agreed to jump into bed with anyone else, and she probably shouldn't have done it with him. Truth was, the girl missed him. He had been willing to give up everything for her, and that scared her. Commitment scared her, even if he was the only one she ever considered doing it with. Their relationship was solid, it wasn't that it wasn't a commitment in itself, but she didn't want Preston to give up something he loved so much. She played back how things ended in her head and thought of things she wished she could have said but didn't.
Pulling up to the shop, she looked around to see what all had changed. There were some new graffiti marks on the half pipes but other than that, things pretty much looked the same. Pulling her shades up, and resting them on her head she climbed out of her bug and made her way inside. Her heart was pounding inside her chest and she took a few deep breaths as she pretended to look around. As she was walking up to the counter to ask one of the workers if they could get Preston, he walked out from the door that was behind the desk. Her breath caught in her throat as she watched him. He was more beautiful than she remembered, if that was at all possible.
"Pres!" her voice showed her excitement that she tried to hide and failed miserably at. She made her way to the end of the counter where he was coming from and wrapped her arms around his neck and held onto him for a moment, before the thought that it might be awkward for him hit and she stepped back. "Uhm. Hey." she lifted her shoulders almost shyly and smiled at him.
